Sistema Toronto is a free music and social development program for children in Toronto’s underserved communities with the goal of igniting transformative social action. Through ensemble-based music education, the program empowers children from marginalized neighbourhoods, helping them learn, grow, and cultivate important life skills like empathy, problem-solving, collaboration, and listening. Our core program offers up to 10 hours of weekly instruction in various disciplines like strings, percussion, and choir, helping Sistema Toronto students develop keen musical abilities while adopting skills that will help them contribute to building stronger communities as engaged citizens and future leaders.
